Carbonate chimney sample from 2000 discovery dive

One of the first carbonate samples recovered from the Lost City, composed of aragonite, calcite and a metastable mineral called ikiate. The sample was recovered using the submersible Alvin from a vent with fluid temperatures of 76°C.
